NABSWax Communications is supporting NABS, the marketing communications industry charity, by offering the chance to bid for and win a ‘week’s work experience at Wax Communications’!

To participate, you can bid online for the opportunity at ‘Buy Once Give Twice‘.

Bidding is open ’till the 26th February 2009 at 16:00h.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake a week’s work experience at one of the leading promotional marketing agencies in the UK”

Working across a range of media, Wax works with the country’s most popular biscuit, the world’s favourite fizzy drink and the UK’s yummiest yoghurt to not really name just a few.

We find sharp insights to develop cunning ideas to help these brands ‘activate people’ – because that’s what we’re all about.

About NABS

NABS is the charity for the marketing communications industry and makes a real and positive difference to people’s lives, assisting with everything from a small question to a life crisis.

Callers to their national helpline are offered the support they need, whether it is financial, emotional, professional or legal support.

They also offer careers advice, mentoring and training to anybody working in the industry.

In order to do this, they rely on the generosity of people across the industry – largely through donations and support at various events that take place throughout the year.

It’s the geek of the week back again to deliver you this week’s cultural selection.

Since, I got really no response from my fantastic creative team in regards to last weeks event, I have decided to open it up to the whole agency for everyone to enjoy or chose not to enjoy.

BeatlesNonetheless, I’m going to be sending once a week a little email around with a suggestion of something to go see or do as there are so many things to take advantage of in London, that as Londoner’s we so vehemently overlook and since I’m a syrup drinking Canadian I thought it would be beneficial to share my perspective.

This week is a last chance must see for any of you who have a special spot for 70’s nostalgia, good music and fantastic design. Until Sunday Jan 25, the first UK retrospective featuring Alan Aldridge will be taking place at the Design Museum.

Alan is possibly best known for the picture book The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper Feast and other creatures and of course his cover artwork for Captain Fantastic by Elton John in 1975, and his Beatles illustrations.

The show is on until Sunday  January 25th at the Design Museum, 28 Butlers Wharf, Shad Thames, London SE1 2YD

It’s on daily from 10am to -5:45pm.

Cheers!

Brydon.

In lieu of the fact that there are so many great things to see in this city on a weekly basis and the obvious fact that I am a geek, I though it would be a good idea to try to do something as a team every once in awhile or see some things we can talk about.

Thus, I’m going to send an email once a week in regards to something that’s on you might want to consider seeing.

As this is the first, I thought the promotion of a fellow Canadian would be relevant.

It’s an Exhibition of Edward Burtynsky’s new photographic work of Australian Minescapes.

He is a prolific photographer (and movie maker) with really interesting large scale images that are usually themed around exploitation of raw materials.

There’s a really great movie out of his work called Manufactured Landscapes, which I have put on the server for you to see.

Also there are some more links below with the details of the show. I will prob go on Sat.

Until Feb 7, FLowers East, Tues to Sat 10am to 6pm. Tel: 020 7920 7777. Tube: Old Street

Peace out!

“It’s a lovely idea and so credit-crunch-sensitive. This is a site that knows and engages its audience.”
